2:26 p.m. PT – Women NY Model Management just received a temporary restraining order, putting the brakes on Elite NY’s alleged pursuit of one of their talents – at least for now.
There’s a war brewing in the modeling world – 2 of the biggest model management companies are going head-to-head over some of the sexiest women in the world.
A company called Women NY Model Management just filed a lawsuit against famed Elite Model Management in New York City, claiming that Elite NY poached its stable of top-notch talent…including Adam Levinemodel’s wife, Behati Prinsloo.
According to the documents, Women NY says Elite NY engaged in a months-long effort to steal from its top model managers and convince them to take their clients to Elite.
Women NY says Elite NY’s efforts have brought in more than 55 of its customers over the past 4 months, representing over $22 million in annual bookings.
The most recent example – depending on the costume – is the model Ophelie Guillermand. The women claim he was arranging a booking for her and were taken aback when they learned she had jumped ship for Elite.
Alexina Graham, Anna Ewers, Giedre Dukauskaite and Alicia Burke are other big names listed in the suit.
According to the suit… Elite NY’s MO is to put in charge men who have a history of sordid behavior. For example, according to Women, in 2005 the manager of Elite NY hired John Casablancas …who he refers to as a notorious figure in the fashion world because a model sued him in 2002 for sexual misconduct when she was 15. Casablancas, who died in 2013, settled that case.
Women NY thinks it’s normal for Elite NY – he alleges that “some of the older men currently running [Elite N.Y.] have had sex with models they represent.”
Women NY is suing to stop Elite NY from plundering its talent crop…and also wants damages.
